"Green remodeling" is a policy project driven by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Korea Authority of Land & Infrastructure Safety. It aims to enhance the value of existing aged buildings by improving energy efficiency, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and providing a comfortable and healthy living environment.

Business purpose
To promote the improvement of energy performance in private buildings, partial interest on construction loans is subsidized, thereby promoting the activation of Green Remodeling projects.

Support details
The interest support for the energy performance improvement construction costs of existing buildings is provided at a maximum of 4% (including 5% for vulnerable classes, including basic livelihood recipients) according to the support criteria when entering into a loan agreement with the handling financial institution.
All types of private projects that are planning or implementing green remodeling for energy performance improvement in existing private buildings, excluding completed projects, are eligible for application and support.
If the energy performance improvement rate is 20% or higher or the window energy consumption efficiency level is 3 or higher, interest of 4% is supported. The energy performance improvement rate can only be recognized by calculating the energy performance evaluation program or simple evaluation table designated by the Green Remodeling Creation Center.
