Wireless (KC certification)

Kiel Institute offers testing services for certification of wireless devices by the National Radio Research Agency (RRA)

Telecommunications equipment Compliance or Approval

The system for the suitability evaluation of broadcasting and communication equipment is divided into three categories: certification, registration, and provisional certification. Those intending to manufacture, sell, or import broadcasting and communication equipment must undergo the suitability evaluation corresponding to the applicable certification, registration, or provisional certification for the equipment in question.

  • Certification
Equipment that poses concerns for radio wave environments and broadcasting and communication networks, as well as devices causing significant electromagnetic interference or being affected to the extent that normal operation is disrupted by electromagnetic waves, and one wishes to manufacture, sell, or import such equipment.
  • Registration
When intending to manufacture, sell, or import broadcasting and communication equipment that is not subject to suitability certification.
  • Provisional certification
In cases where the suitability evaluation criteria for broadcasting and communication equipment are not established or for other reasons that make the suitability evaluation difficult, if the equipment is manufactured, imported, or sold after a suitability evaluation based on domestic and international standards, specifications, and technical standards, and includes regional specifics, validity period, and certification conditions.

Guidelines for Test Registration

  • When submitting the initial testing request, it is mandatory to provide the business registration certificate.
  • If the applying company is different from the invoice-issuing company, the testing request must include the contact person/contact number/email of the invoice-issuing company.
  • Upload documents required for testing, such as product specifications and product photos (user manuals, documents outlining differences in the case of derivative models, etc.).
  • The required quantity of samples for certification is one unit, unless specific circumstances necessitate otherwise (additional requests can be made if necessary).
  • Clearly indicate the quantity of samples.
  • Testing will proceed only after the sample has been received and the testing fee has been paid in full.
  • The testing fee is subject to internal regulations of the institute.
  • Domestic testing fees should be transferred to the following account: (Bank) Woori Bank 974-023999-13-007 (Account Holder) KIEL Research Institute.
