Since its establishment in 1999, our institute has been the only domestic research and testing specialist institution in the field of light and energy convergence. We engage in various tasks, including research and development of technologies related to light and energy, testing and certification of products, standardization, and the cultivation of specialized personnel.

In the field of research and development, we focus on securing new future growth engines in the light and energy convergence industry. We delve into research areas such as the convergence of technologies with the Internet of Things (IoT) and smart technology, development of new light source utilization technologies (OLED, hologram, UV), and energy efficiency technologies for lighting devices.

In the testing and certification domain, we provide a one-stop service for testing and certification (KS, KC, high-efficiency energy materials, efficiency grades, etc.), electromagnetic compatibility testing (lighting devices, IT devices, multimedia devices, wireless devices, household appliances), wireless (RF) certification testing (wireless chargers, Bluetooth, wireless mice/keyboards, door locks), and international certifications (Energystar, DLC, European ErP) for various products, including lighting devices, ensuring swift and accurate services to businesses for the ultimate customer satisfaction.

Moreover, designated as the first light pollution inspection agency in the country, we lead the way by offering services such as light pollution measurement, analysis, and solutions to various entities, including local governments and businesses, ensuring that everyone can lead their lives in a healthy and pleasant lighting environment.

To achieve carbon neutrality goals, we are not only putting efforts into technology for lighting energy efficiency and energy-saving design support but also working on supporting technologies for zero-energy buildings and building energy efficiency rating certification.
