IC (Industry Canada) is a Canadian telecommunications standard, similar to the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) in the United States. It is a standard aimed at ensuring the safety of life and property in radio and other communication environments. Most electrical and electronic devices, including communication devices and PCs, must obtain IC approval to be exported to Canada.
Telecommunication Act of Canada and Radiocommunication Act of Canada
* Terminals and Type I wireless communication devices require industrial certification in Canada, whereas Type 2 wireless communication devices can be sold without separate industrial certification if they comply with the technical specifications.
