Electromagnetic Compatibility(International Certification)

CE(Conformity European)

This applies to products distributed within Europe that are considered to pose risks in terms of consumer health, safety, hygiene, and environmental protection. For target items, affixing the CE mark is a legal requirement, and failure to do so can result in a ban on distribution within Europe. Products bearing the CE mark can be freely distributed within the EU and EFTA countries without the need for inspections or testing.

  • EMCD
This applies to devices that may cause electromagnetic interference or be affected by such interference. To ensure that these devices operate properly without causing harmful interference in an electromagnetic environment and without being affected by other sources of electromagnetic interference, EMC requirements are applied to the relevant equipment.
  • RED
This certification applies to all electrical and electronic devices that emit and receive radio waves at frequencies up to 3000 GHz.
  • MDD
This certification pertains to medical devices, and in Europe, they are categorized into three types: general medical devices, in vitro diagnostic medical devices, and active implantable medical devices. Different regulations apply to each category. This guideline specifically addresses general medical devices.

Guidelines for Test Registration

  • When submitting the initial testing request, it is mandatory to provide the business registration certificate.
  • If the applying company is different from the invoice-issuing company, the testing request must include the contact person/contact number/email of the invoice-issuing company.
  • Upload documents required for testing, such as product specifications and product photos (user manuals, documents outlining differences in the case of derivative models, etc.).
  • The required quantity of samples for certification is one unit, unless specific circumstances necessitate otherwise (additional requests can be made if necessary).
  • Clearly indicate the quantity of samples.
  • Testing will proceed only after the sample has been received and the testing fee has been paid in full.
  • The testing fee is subject to internal regulations of the institute.
  • Domestic testing fees should be transferred to the following account: (Bank) Woori Bank 974-023999-13-007 (Account Holder) KIEL Research Institute.
  • Submission document templates
  • Delays or insufficient submission of documents may result in delayed issuance of test reports.
